The Dubbing Database

Joachim Tennstedt (nickname Hucky) is a German actor, voice actor and dubbing director.

Biography[]

Joachim Tennstedt took ballet lessons at an early age. Without any acting training, he was given his first role in the still young medium of television in 1963. From 1966 to 1971, he worked as a theater actor at the Berliner Kammerspiele. From 1968, he appeared at the Hebbel Theater in Berlin, and later also at the Hansa and Renaissance Theaters in Berlin. Tennstedt also appeared with Randolf Kronberg in the Berlin cabaret Die Wühlmäuse. Parallel to his work in the theater, Tennstedt appeared in television productions and films.

Discovered by director Michael Miller during a theater performance, Tennstedt made his debut in 1972 in his first dubbing role in the horror film The Last House on the Left. At the beginning of the 1980s, he increasingly concentrated on dubbing work and became one of the most sought-after voice actors in contemporary film and television in Germany.

Tennstedt lives in Berlin, is married and has two sons. His son Julian also works as a voice actor.
