Kirby: Right Back at Ya! is the English dub of 星のカービィ. It has previously aired on Fox, The CW in the United States, Pop in the United Kingdom, Kids Central in Singapore and TVB Pearl in Hong Kong. Its episodes were also released on the Wii and the Nintendo 3DS in Europe. It was dubbed by the American company 4Kids Entertainment.
Broadcast[]
Original[]
In the United States, the broadcasting rights of Kirby: Right Back at Ya! were handled by 4Kids Entertainment. The series debuted on Fox on September 14, 2002 during the FoxBox Saturday morning block, which was later rebranded as 4KidsTV. Before the initial premiere, on September 1, 2002, a sneak peek of the first episode aired on the channel. The original run of the series on the channel ended on December 9, 2006, after four seasons, and went into re-runs on the channel until January 6, 2007. Since then, the series began rebroadcasting on the channel once again, from June 21, 2008 until December 27, 2008, with 4KidsTV's discontinuation. It was also available on the 4KidsTV website and video on demand until 2009.
Kirby: Right Back at Ya! also aired on The CW during the CW4Kids block starting June 6, 2009. It stopped airing there on July 11, 2009, after a month.
International[]
Kirby: Right Back at Ya! was also broadcast in the United Kingdom on Pop from 2004 to 2009, in Hong Kong on TVB Pearl in 2005, and in Singapore on Kids Central in 2007.
Release[]
Original[]
The American distribution company FUNimation Entertainment began to release Kirby: Right Back at Ya! on VHS tapes and DVDs. The series was released in three volumes, with three episodes in each: "Kirby Comes to Cappy Town" (on November 12, 2002, "A Dark and Stormy Knight" (on January 7, 2003), and "Kirby's Egg-Cellent Adventure" (on November 4, 2003); those volumes were later added to one single set, titled "The Kirby Collection", on November 4, 2003, which also includes a guide to Kirby Air Ride, a video game that was released in North America a month earlier, as a bonus. The final five episodes of the series were released in a movie format as "Kirby: Fright to the Finish!" on June 14, 2005, long before their broadcast on television. Other sets include "Cook Kirby" and "Ice Kirby" (November 15, 2005), "Kirby's Adventures in Cappy Town" (February 19, 2008), and "Kirby: Cappy New Year & Other Kirby Adventures" (December 9, 2008). Another volume, titled "Escargoon Squad", was planned to release on DVD by FUNimation as well, but was canceled in 2006.
With the release of Kirby's Dream Collection in North America on September 16, 2012, three complete episodes of Kirby: Right Back at Ya! became available to watch via the game's disc on the Wii.
International[]

On June 23, 2011, Nintendo released Kirby: Right Back at Ya! to Australia, New Zealand and the rest of Europe through the "Kirby TV Channel" Wii Channel. New episodes were added to the channel every Monday and Thursday for 5–6 months, with older ones being relegated to an archive, which were available for intermittent viewing. Not all the 100 episodes were covered in the planned release schedule, however: only 51 episodes were added, with the 38th episode being skipped. A second run began on April 2, 2012.
In addition, a stereoscopic 3D version of the CG special "倒せ!!甲殻魔獣エビゾウ", was dubbed by 4Kids and became available in two parts on the Nintendo 3DS' Nintendo Video service in January 2012, as "Kirby 3D".
Nintendo of Europe later added the first 53 episodes of Kirby: Right Back at Ya! (with episode 38 included) on the Nintendo Anime channel on the Nintendo 3DS on February 13, 2015, with new content being added regularly. However, the series was removed on September 30, 2018, and the anime channel itself was removed from the 3DS digital store a month later, on October 31, 2018.

Notes[]
- The dub serves as a base for most of the dubs that were produced for the series.
- The dub uses its own theme song, "Kirby: Right Back at Ya!", that was composed by Norman J. Grossfeld and Ralph Schuckett. The full version of the song is played during the intro, while an instrumental version is played during the end credits.
- The logo for this dub would later be used for the official English logos for the game series starting with Nightmare in Dream Land.
Footnotes[]
- ↑ A sneak peek of "Kirby Comes to Cappy Town" aired on 2002-09-01.
