La Belle et la Bête is the French dub of Beauty and the Beast. Although Disney had started making Canadian French dubs from Who Framed Roger Rabbit? onwards, they opted not to for this film due to it being explicitly set in France; as such, it premiered in the province of Quebec on December 20, 1991. The film premiered in France at the Cannes Film Festival on May 13, 1992 and was eventually released nationwide on October 21st of the same year with slight modifications, specifically redone mixing and several re-recorded lines.
Further edits were made to the film for its Platinum Edition home video released in 2002. Due to Lucie Dolène suing Disney over royalties, her lines were redubbed throughout the entire film as well as some of Lumiere, Cogsworth and Chip's lines. Several other roles were recast for said special edition, but only for the newly-added "Human Again" scene.

Notes[]
- The 1992 Canadian VHS uses the first version of the dub. However, since 2002, every reissue of the film in this country uses the re-dub.
- Belle's screams in the wolf chase were originally dubbed, but were left out from the English dub in the 2002 re-release.
- Clarence le Prévost was only 4 years old when he voiced Chip. Because of his young age, fellow actress Claire Guyot taught him his lines.
- Although this film and Belle's Magical World did not receive Canadian French dubs due to being explicitly set in France, The Enchanted Christmas still did.
