- Dominique Faure (singing voice of Ariel) was originally only part of the choir; but Daniel Scott, the Musical director, eventually asked her to audition for the role after Disney refused all the other candidates.
- Violette Chauveau and Inti Chauveau, respectively the voices of Ariel and Flounder, are siblings in real life.
- Michel Maillot, the voice of Grimsby was credited as Michel Max Mailhot.
