Lightyear: Historia e vërtetë e Bazit

Lightyear: Historia e vërtetë e Bazit (also known as Baz Vit-drita on the title card) is the Albanian dub of Lightyear. It premiered on Gold HD on September 19, 2022 and was added to the DigitAlb app on the same day. It was released a few days earlier on Popcorn.

Produced by Studio Suprem for DigitAlb, the dub was revealed to be in production on August 11, when a video of Xhoana Karaj recording as Izzy Hawthorne was posted by the studio onto Instagram. A video of Klodjana Keco as Alisha Hawthorne was posted later on August 17.

Censorship[]

A same-sex kiss between Alisha Hawthorne and her female partner was cut, as Studio Suprem felt that the scene was not appropriate for a children's film (LGBT content in media targeted at mature audiences is not censored). Homosexuality is seen as taboo in Albania, where same-sex relationships are not recognized, although the country does not have laws which censor LGBT content in the media.

Trivia[]

Ervin Bejleri reprises his role of Buzz for the first time since the first Toy Story film.
The film was initially released in English in Albanian theaters on June 16, 2022, with the same-sex kiss intact.
