Lutz Mackensy is a German actor and voice actor. He participates in dubbing and audio plays.
Biography[]
After leaving school, Mackensy attended the Max Reinhardt Schule für Schauspiel (Max Reinhardt School of Drama) in West Berlin. There, he made his stage debut at the Schillertheater (Schiller Theatre). This was followed by various engagements in Berlin, Hamburg, and Wilhelmshaven.
Mackensy made his feature film debut as early as 1958 in Alfred Vohrer's Meine 99 Bräute (My 99 Brides). It would be almost ten years before he shifted his artistic focus more and more to film and television productions. Initially cast mainly in comic roles, Mackensy was soon able to deliver a much broader range of his skills, although he remained true to comic and parodic characters. Mackensy is also a frequently seen guest in television series.
Lutz Mackensy is also active as a narrator and has been involved in numerous audio dramas for young people. His voice can be heard above all in productions by the Hamburg-based company Europa, which has accompanied German youth for generations.
As a voice actor, Mackensy mainly plays comic and oddball roles. He is Rowan Atkinson's regular voice actor and has dubbed Al Pacino for a long time, among others.
