Marcel Mann was a German actor, voice actor and comedian.

Biography[]

Marcel Mann began acting as a child and took acting lessons from the age of 14. After graduating from high school, he began training in singing, acting and speech. From 2007, he took on smaller roles in various television productions and also began working as a dubbing artist. Among others, he was the German dubbing voice of Ross Lynch, Dylan Sprayberry and Alex Newell. In the 2006/07 season, he was a member of the Theater Total ensemble in Bochum. After stints in Cologne and Munich, he moved to Berlin in 2008. Marcel Mann was openly homosexual and occasionally addressed this in his shows.

Mann became better known in 2014 with his appearances as a stand-up comedian, in which he initially talked about his work as a dubbing artist. In 2015, he won the Talentschmiede (Talent factory), the young talent award of the Quatsch Comedy Club, one of Germany's most famous comedy shows. Together with Lena Liebkind and Andreas Weber, he formed the comedy group The Comedy Red Pack, with whom he toured from 2015 to 2017. In 2016, he played the comic nerd Max alongside Chris Tall in the sitcom Gutes Wedding Schlechtes Wedding produced by rbb television. He was one of the regular presenters of the stand-up comedy format NightWash live. From September 2017, Mann went on tour with his first solo program Weil ich ein Männchen bin. From 2022 to 2023, he co-hosted Don't Skip on Comedy Central with Jokah Tululu. From 2022, he ran the podcast Hangover Berlin together with Nina Queer.

He died by suicide in Berlin on January 21, 2025, 10 days before his 38th birthday.
