Mean Girls is a 2024 American musical teen comedy film. It is the film adaptation of Tina Fey's 2018 Broadway stage musical of the same name, which in turn is based off the original 2004 teen comedy film. The film is directed by Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr., and stars Angourie Rice, Reneé Rapp, Auli'i Cravalho, Jaquel Spivey, and Avantika.
The film follows new student Cady Heron gets welcomed into the top of the social food chain by an elite group of popular girls called the Plastics, ruled by the conniving queen bee Regina George. However, when Cady makes the major misstep of falling for Regina's ex-boyfriend, she soon finds herself caught in their crosshairs.
Mean Girls is distributed by Paramount Pictures, and it was released in theaters on January 12, 2024.
