Miraculous: As Aventuras de Ladybug is the European Portuguese dub of Miraculous, les aventures de Ladybug et Chat Noir. The first season premiered on Disney Channel on February 22, 2016, a week after the premiere of the European Spanish dub, concluding on October 11, 2016. The second season began airing on December 23, 2016, with the Christmas special as a preview, before the proper premiere on October 23, 2017, until November 16, 2018. The third season premiered on December 1, 2018, with episode "Caméléon"; a few days prior, the network released the first few minutes of the same episode. The season concluded on May 30, 2020. More often than not, the premieres of this dub on the channel would occur closely to the European Spanish air dates, causing the international premieres of some seasons 2 and 3 episodes to occur with this dub, alongside the English dub.

A handful of season 4 episodes premiered from May 15 until June 5 of 2021; a short hiatus caused new premieres to continue on October 2. New episodes no longer premiered internationally with this dub, as they would debut earlier with either the Brazilian Portuguese and English versions in these dubs' respective home countries. The season concluded on May 28, 2022.

The dub has also been broadcasting on the national Portuguese broadcaster RTP2, where only the first three seasons have aired so far, as of September 25, 2017. It has also been streaming on Netflix as of August 1, 2016, and Disney+, where some season 4 episodes were released prior to their TV debuts, as of August 25, 2021.

Notes[]

  • In an interview with the Instagram account Operação Miraculous, Bárbara Lourenço revealed that episodes are dubbed when the animation and CGI are not yet finished.
    • This is a very similar situation to the European Spanish dub, as Jesús Barreda, the voice of Adrien in that dub confirmed the same thing, and commonly shares updates of episodes being dubbed into this language when seasons are still in production.
  • Alya's superhero name, Rena Rouge, was changed to Fox Rouge. This was most likely done to avoid confusion about the meaning of the word "rena" in Portuguese, which means reindeer.
    • Similarly, Rena Furtive's name was changed to Fox Furtiva.
  • Characters that were voiced by Diogo Valsassina and Francisco Côrte-Real were replaced by Pedro Leitão and Pedro Pernas respectively in season 4.
    • Despite this, Valsassina and Côrte-Real still voiced their characters a few times.
  • Sometimes, Ermelinda Duarte dubs characters' lines as a stand-in:
    • In the dub of "Riposte", Kagami's line in which she accepts being akumatized by le Papillon is voiced by Duarte, rather than her usual voice actor Helena Montez.
    • In the dub of "Climatika 2", Nora's line in which she calms Ella and Etta down is also voiced by Duarte, rather than her usual voice actor Mafalda Luís de Castro.
  • For unknown reasons, in the dub of the season 4 episode "Vérité" (Truth), some of the kwamis' voice actors are changed.
  • In season 3, Marianne's name is changed to 'Mariana'. However, it is changed back to Marianne in season 4 for unknown reasons.
  • Initially, the Magical Charms are referred to as the original French/English name. However, for the rest of season 4, their referred by their literal Portuguese translation, 'Amuleto Mágico'.

Errors[]

  • The season 3 episode "Papa Garou" (Weredad) is called "Lobipai" in this dub; however, Disney Channel schedule mistakenly refer to it as "Papà Mannaro".
  • In season 4, there are a few noticeable translation errors,
    • The pronounciation of Zoé's name changes often.
    • In "Optigami", when Ladybug exposes the sentimonsters, Papillombre declares that he'll put an end to her existence ("Ponho fim à tua existência!"). However, what he said should've been translated into "I put an end to your existence" ("Ponho fim à vossa existência.") as he was using his powers to discard Optigami and Sentinino.
      • It's most likely that, since this line came right after he swore payback on Ladybug, the translators thought he was still referring to her.
    • When Marinette wakes up from her nightmare in "Sentibulleur", she tells Tikki about seeing Le Papillon in the dream, not Papillombre.
    • In "Hack-San", Scarabella tells Chat Noir that the people surrounding them in the museum are just statues, when she should have said the opposite.
      • Similarly, in "Exauceur", Luka tells Adrien that he always thought modelling was his thing ("Sempre senti que ser modelo era realmente a tua praia"), when again, he should have said the opposite.
    • At one point in "Qilin", Roger says recover ('recuperar') rather than cooperate ('cooperar').
      • Also in "Qilin", throughout the episode, the titular villain's name is mispronouned with a "k" sound for the "Q". However, in the dub of "Chère Famille" (Dearest Family), it is correctly pronounced with a "chi" sound for the "Q".
    • In "Éphémère" (Ephemeral), the text message from Marinette that Luka reads out refers to the Miracle Box being hidden in her dollhouse, despite the fact that the dollhouse was where she formerly hid the Box. It should've been referred to as her sewing box, like the original.
