Miraculous: Eachtraí Bhóín Dé agus an Chait Dhuibh is the Irish dub of Miraculous, les aventures de Ladybug et Chat Noir. It first premiered on TG4 during the Cúla4 block on September 26, 2022, premiering a new episode from the first season once per day on weekdays until October 31 of the same year.

On January 26, 2023, the dub returned for the second season. Unusually, although the episode order begins with "Le Collectioneur", the following episodes afterwards were ones mainly consisting of the debuts of the new Miraculous holders of the season, even though they are supposed to be released sparodically for continuity. The 2-parters "Le combat des reines" and "Maledikteur" aired as episodes 4-6, and another few episodes after that, the season finale "Le jour des héros" aired as episodes 9-10, despite being 26 episodes in the season. Afterwards, the order returns to normal.

After almost a hiatus of 8 months, the third season premiered on January 16, 2024.

Notes[]

  • As with most dubs of the series, this dub is based off of the English dub rather than the original French version.
  • Even though the villain Stormy Weather is named Aimsir Corraibh, the episode of the same name is instead titled Stoirm Mhór.
  • Chloé's catchphrase, "Ridicule, totalement ridicule" ("Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous" in the English dub) was translated twice. In the second episode, it was "Seafóideach, go hiomlán seafóideach", but by the twenty-first and twenty-third episodes, it was changed to "Amaideach, go hiomlán amaideach".
  • In "La Marionnettiste" (The Puppeteer), when Alya is possessed into becoming Lady Wifi again by the titular villain, she starts off speaking with Manon's voice rather than her own voice.
  • A handful of side characters have their names localized:
    • Nathalie Sancœur is Nainsí.
    • Lila Rossi is Líle de Róiste.
    • Sabrina Raincomprix is Siobhan.
      • Her dad, Roger, is Ruairí.
    • Alix Kubdel is Ailbhe.
    • Rose Lavillant is Róis.
    • Juleka Couffaine is Seosaimhín.
    • Max Kanté is Marcás.
    • Lê Chiến Kim is Cian.
    • Mylène Haprèle is Muireann.
      • Her dad, Fred, is Fionn.
    • Nathaniel Kurtzberg is Nioclás.
      • Oddly enough however, in season 2, his name was changed to Naoise. This was most likely due to the introduction of Santa Claus in this season, who received the localized name San Nioclás.
    • Ms Caline Bustier is Bean Uí Bhreathnaigh.
    • André Bourgeois is Aonghus.
    • Jagged Stone is Géaráin Scolb.
      • His pet crocodile, Fang, is Scian.
    • Nadja Chamack is Nóirín.
    • Aurore Beauréal is Áine.
    • Mireille Caquet is Máirín.
    • Manon Chamack is Máire Ní Chéide.
    • Josiane Balasko, renamed Sarah in the English dub, is Sorcha.
    • Vincent Aza is Ansin.
    • Trixx is Cleas.
    • Ondine is Orla.
    • Gina Dupain is Gráinne.
    • Alec Cataldi's localized name is yet to be identified.
    • Ms Mendeleiev's localized name is Bean Uí Mhathúna.
    • Marc Anciel was seemingly Mait according to TV schedules, but his name eventually ended up being unlocalized in "Reverser".

Errors[]

  • Despite most of the characters having localized names, there are still times when they are referred to by their original names.
    • In the first episode, despite Manon's localized name being established as Máire, Tikki still refers to her as Manon at the start of the last scene.
    • Despite André Bourgeois' localized name being established as Aonghus by Chloé in episode 6, Alec still calls him André in episode 18.
    • In "Volpina", the titular villain's name is localized into An Sionnach. However, in one line, Adrien says "Gabh mo leithscéal, a Vholpina" ("Excuse me, Volpina"), still referring to her by her original name.
  • In "Chameleon", Lila still refers to Max as Max, despite his localized name being Marcás.
