My Little Pony: A Amizade é Mágica is the European Portuguese dub of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. The dub first premiered on Canal Panda in Portugal on March 5, 2012. The first six seasons would air on the channel, before the dub entered a four-year hiatus when the season 6 finale aired on December 15, 2017.

The seventh season was suddenly advertised on Canal Panda's schedules on the last day of August 2022, claiming to return to the channel on September 2, 2022, although this did not happen, with reruns of other series (such as Dinosaur Train) occuring on the timeslot. Furthermore, this was not advertised outside of their website, such as their Instagram or Facebook, and no promos of the season had aired on the channel up to that point. It was then advertised that this season would premiere on January 20, 2024, after its official premiere on the latest streaming service of the channel, Panda+.

On the Instagram story of actress Cecília Henriques in November 2022, it was revealed that season seven was being recorded. It then released on Panda+ on April 17, 2023.

The dub has previously aired on JimJam, and it has also aired on DStv Kids in Angola and Mozambique, under the title "O Meu Pequeno Pony".

Seasons 1–5 of the dub were available to stream on Netflix.

Notes

• Although Carla Mendes left production of the dub, she returned to voice Applejack in My Little Pony: The Movie, as well as other characters in the Equestria Girls franchise.
• All the songs in the dub are performed by Ana Vieira, Sandra de Castro and Bárbara Lourenço, except the song from episode 12 in season 6, "It's Gonna Work" (Vai Resultar), which is sung by Inês Marques playing Rarity and Pinkie Pie in a cameo.
• Cecilia Henriques (Rarity, Fluttershy) revealed during the production of My Little Pony: The Movie that she was a big fan of the My Little Pony franchise since she was a child.

Errors

• The dub translated the title of the season 4 episode "Rainbow Falls" into "A Rainbow Cai", which considers the word Falls in the title to be a verb and not a noun (the title actually refers to the rainbow waterfall featured in the episode, and has nothing to do with the character Rainbow Dash).

Translations

• Cutie marks are referred to as Marcas Especiais ("Special Marks") from seasons 1-4.
• The Cutie Mark Crusaders are referred to as As Cruzadas da Marca Especial from seasons 1-4.
• The Grand Galloping Gala is called Grande Gala Galopante.
• Discord is called Discórdia in season 2, and Discord in season 3.
• Cranky Doodle Donkey is called Carranca Boneco Burro.
• Nightmare Moon is called by her original name in the season one and two premieres.
