My Little Pony: Arkadaşlık Sihirlidir (also known as Arkadaşlık büyülü on YouTube) is the Turkish dub of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Produced by Saran Digital Studios, the dub first premiered on Minika in Türkiye on October 1, 2011. When the channel was split into two on January 17, 2012, the series moved to MinikaÇocuk. The show also airs on its sister channel, MinikaGO. Many episodes were either censored heavily or banned entirely. In 2017, the show briefly aired on a2. The dub completed its run on December 8, 2019.

Since 2018, the first six seasons were gradually made available on Netflix, which hosted all previously banned episodes, up to that point. All of the season 1 was released across 6 volumes on DVD by distiributor BirFilm. On February 12, 2022, the official Turkish My Little Pony YouTube channel began uploading full episodes of the dub, including those that went previously unaired by Minika.

Censorship

Because of Islamic broadcast standards, many scenes in episodes are typically censored as they air on the Minika channels, including those that feature romance, and those that show pigs. Some episodes that would be rather difficult to censor are outright banned from airing, including all Christmas episodes (except "Hearthbreakers" for unknown reason), as they parallel Christian holidays. This also includes the special Best Gift Ever, which also doubles as the show's 196th episode.

Three of the banned episodes, "Magical Mystery Cure", "Twilight's Kingdom - Part 2", and "Crusaders of the Lost Mark", affected the plot of the series, as Twilight Sparkle was given wings and crowned a princess in the first episode, resulting in her having wings and being addressed as a princess in the fourth season without any events that precede it. In the second, the Golden Oak Library is destroyed and Twilight Sparkle gets her own castle, resulting in the castle showing up in the fifth season without any events that precede it, as well as the Golden Oak Library's ruins being visited in episode 3 of season 5. And in the third episode, the Cutie Mark Crusaders suddenly have their cutie marks in the next episode without any events that precede it.

The season 9 episodes 9 and 11 were first broadcast with censored scenes, but later aired fully, with the censored lines being re-dubbed, in order to replace the cut lines with something that doesn't qualify for a cut.

Instances of the channel's censorship includes:

• Most of Spike's fantasy about saving Rarity in "A Dog and Pony Show" is abruptly cut.
• In "Green Isn't Your Color", Spike's crush on Rarity is changed to him thinking Rarity got fat. However only Spike's "I have a crush on Rarity!" and Twi's "Spike has a crush on Rarity!" lines are changed in that way while other lines like "My lips are sealed. Though I'm pretty sure Rarity is gonna pick up on your feelings." are translated directly without any alteration.
• Rarity's verse about Prince Blueblood in the song "At the Gala" was cut
• In "A Canterlot Wedding - Part 2", the scene where Rarity catches a bouquet is removed.
• The scene in "One Bad Apple" which the Cutie Mark Crusaders wear pig costumes was cut

An exception of an episode focusing on romance that was not banned is "A Canterlot Wedding", which revolves around the titular wedding of Princess Cadance and Shining Armor. Despite this, the broadcasted episode still had heavy censorship.

  • During the original run of season 1, the opening theme itself was left in English at first, but from season 1 episode 11 "Winter Wrap Up" onwards (which is also the first episode to have a dubbed song), the opening from the demo DVD dub began to be used for all season 1 episodes, including reruns of earlier episodes. Because the dub was produced at PAL speed, the song was slightly off-sync. With the second season, a new opening began to be used - this time dubbed by Saran itself; on Netflix and YouTube, the episodes of the first season all reuse the second opening as this change was not made by Saran itself.
  • Season 1: "Laughter Song", "Pinkie's Gala Fantasy Song", "Cupcake Song", "The Ticket Song", "Evil Enchantress song", "Art of the Dress", "You Got to Share, You Got to Care", "Hush Now Lullaby" (when Sweetie Belle sings it), and "So Many Wonders"
  • Every song from Season 2 to Season 4 is not dubbed, except the theme song and:
    • "Love Is In Bloom" - Only used in later airings on Minika, as the song was initially not dubbed for the show itself but rather an extended version produced for promotional materials; because of this, the televised version omits the sound effects and retains the NTSC pitch and speed. Because this change was done by Minika and not Saran, digital releases leave the song undubbed.
    • In seasons 3 and 4, only the songs from the banned episodes were dubbed because the episodes themselves were dubbed during the production of season 6. In Magical Mystery Cure, A True True Friend's credit reprise is still undubbed.
  • Season 5: "Sisterhood", "We'll Make Our Mark" (and its prelude), "The Vote", "The Pony I Want to Be", "Light of Your Cutie Mark". The two episodes that feature these songs were also banned from airing. The song "Friends Are Always There For You" was also left in English when the episode first aired but dubbed in reruns.
  • Since season six, every song has been dubbed.
• The song "A Changeling Can Change" was redubbed in later broadcasts.
• Due to Minika Çocuk only broadcasting 4:3 until 2016, Seasons 1-3 and 5 of this dub were released cropped to 4:3, and some of Season 5 was even released cropped to 1:1, but for unknown reasons, season 4 was mastered in 16:9 and released as letterbox widescreen. This change was made in the process of localising the footage - all releases of the episodes with Turkish localisation are cropped, and they were aired without being remastered.

Errors

• In season 1 episode 2 at 18:30, "Cutie Marks" translated as "Güzellik İşareti" like in G5 until TYT season 2. This does not happen in any other episode.
• In TV airings of "Stare Master", Andrea Libman's English lines as Fluttershy during Sweetie Belle's performance of "Hush Now Lullaby" are slightly audible underneath the Turkish dub because of the studio cutting in the English version for the song and not switching to instrumental for Fluttershy's dialogue. However, when the episode was released digitally, the English lines were removed.
• In season 3 episode 1, sound effects go off sync from part where Mane 6 arrives to Crystal Empire until Mane 6 leaving Crystal Empire Library after founding the book (about 07:50 to 16:23 time mark). Unlike "Hush Now Lullaby" error, this one was not fixed on digital releases.
• In the digital release of season 3 episode 5, the theme song is kept in English despite being dubbed on TV.
• In season 3 episode 13, the acapella for "Morning in Ponyvile" is used for the first part of "Life in Equestria," both inaccurate and off-sync.
• In season 5 episode 19, Twilight's "What's this?" line is accidently replaced with Rarity's "What does it say?" line and Rarity don't says anything. This error was not fixed on digital release either.
• In Crusaders of the Lost Mark, the songs are in low quality.

Translations

• Changelings are translated as "Değişkenler" only in season 2 finale "A Canterlot Wedding".
• Cutie Marks translated as "Sevimli İşaretler".
• In season 5 episode 11, the dialogue in the part where mane 5 finds Pinkie's Secret Party Cave is changed. In original Fluttershy says "Twilight Sparkle likes vanilla ice cream, red balloons, dancing...but she's afraid of quesadillas." but in Turkish she says "Twilight Sparkle likes vanilla ice cream, red balloons, dancing...but she's afraid of boiling water." instead.
  • This is technically an error as the translation deviates excessively from the original.
• On season 6 episode 6, both Starlight and Rainbow Dash mistakenly refers Wonderbolts as "Harikalar Diyarı" (in English "Wonderland").
• The term "Pony" was untranslated in every episode except season 9 episode 9 which translated as "Kısrak".
