Nickelodeon Germany (German: Nickelodeon Deutschland), known on-air only as Nickelodeon, is a free-to-air children's cable television network in Germany, and part of the international Nickelodeon franchise.
The German version of Nickelodeon originally launched in 1995. From its launch until 1996, it only broadcasted 6 hours a day. Since 1996, it has been on from 06:00 to 20:00. However, the channel was a failure and continuously lost money, resulting to its shutdown in 1998-05-31.
In 2005-04, it was decided to restore Nickelodeon in Germany, which started again on 2005-09-12, under the name NICK. This lasted until 2010-03-31, when The Channel adopted the name Nickelodeon on-air and online, in addition to the new Nickelodeon logo being rolled out internationally at the time.
