Notes[]

  • It was the first animated feature film ever dubbed into European Portuguese, after many years of consumption of imported Brazilian dubbing.
    • It was considered the second best version worldwide, after its release, second only to the original.
    • Carlos Freixo, dubbing and voice director for adult Simba, said in an interview with Público that dubbing the film was all or nothing. If the experiment failed, it would turn to the consumption of Brazilian dubs. Therefore, every care was taken in the casting of the Portuguese version.
  • The process of adaptation and direction had the collaboration of Spain.
  • The DVD edition of the film included as bonus material the interactive videogame, Timon and Pumbaa's Virtual Safari, which was also dubbed into Portuguese.
  • In a panel at Anifest 2014, Carlos Freixo said that Tiago Caetano had difficulty expressing his emotions in the scene where Mufasa is trampled by the wildebeest.
    • Carlos asked Tiago to imagine his father in the character's place. Both actors walked out of the studio crying.
    • Carlos also said that he regretted making this request to Tiago, who was only 15 years old when the dubbing took place.
  • It is said that actor Paulo Oom would have participated in this dub, however, he was not selected.
  • The end credits version of Can You Feel The Love Tonight? was left undubbed from the original English version.
    • Same thing happened with the voice of Ed.

Errors[]

  • Claudia Cadima appears credited as "Cláudia Cadima" in the dubbing credits and Ana Maria Guedes as "Ana Marias Guedes".
