Open Season: Call of Nature is a American-Canadian-Irish animated TV series produced by Sony Pictures Animation, Brown Bag Films and 9 Story Media Group. It is based on the 2006 computer-animated film Open Season.

Best friends Boog, a risk-averse grizzly bear, and Elliot, a fast-talking deer, discover an abandoned summer camp in the middle of nowhere, and they embark on an adventure to create a new place for animals to live and embrace their inner wild.

Release

Prior to its release, Open Season: Call of Nature was originally announced on August 1, 2023, and was set to release in 2024. However, the series had its debut on Discovery Kids in Brazil (which includes an English audio track) on October 1, 2023. On the same date, the first eight episodes of the series were released on the Discovery+ and Amazon Prime Video streaming services in Brazil, in both English and Portuguese. The next day, it subsequently premiered on Discovery Kids in Latin America in both Spanish and English as well.

In Canada, the series premiered as a sneak peek on Family Channel on October 30, 2023, following an airing of the latest film in the Open Season franchise, Scared Silly. It made its proper premiere on the channel a few days later, on November 3; as a result of the series' premiere, the first three films in the Open Season franchise aired on the channel from November 3 to November 5.

It aired on WildBrainTV from June 28, 2025 up until its closure on October 23, 2025.

International

In Australia, the series premiered on ABC Entertains on February 1, 2024. In Germany, the series premiered on Disney Channel via the English audio track on February 5, 2024.

The series was released in the United States on March 10, 2024 on The Roku Channel with episodes also appearing on 9 Story's YouTube channel; however, at some point, the series was removed from the streamer and was also delisted off of YouTube. It is currently unknown why the show was delisted or if the series will reappear, but compilations of clips from the show can still be watched on 9 Story's official YouTube channel. The series was also released on Tubi in July 2024.

In Switzerland, the series premiered on RTS Un on March 30, 2024. In the United Kingdom and Ireland, it premiered on Nickelodeon on July 29, 2024. In Ireland, it also aired on RTÉ2 starting September 5, 2024. In Hong Kong, it premiered on ViuTVsix on July 30, 2024. In Italy, it aired on Nickelodeon through the English audio track on December 2, 2024.

• During the series' initial run, voice actor Joshua Graham has posted on his X (Twitter) account that the series is planned to be released on Disney+ in an unspecified country in 2024, though it ended up not happening. While the series did air on Disney Channel in Germany, it was never released on Disney+ in the country.
  • Similarly, the series was licensed to Cartoon Network in Southeast Asia, confirming the existence of possible Cantonese, Indonesian, Malay, Taiwanese Mandarin, Thai, and Vietnamese dubs. As of 2025, the series has still not aired on the channel; it is unknown if dubs in the aforementioned languages were even made.
