Notes[]

  • The dubs features a different cast from that of all other Serbian Madagascar media, due to being dubbed by B92, rather Mirius/Moby, as the films were, or Studio Studio, as the other spin-off shows were.
  • There were a lot of instances where male characters were voiced by a woman (Vladislava Đorđevič), possibly due to the small voice cast. Those include: Mort, Eggy, Leonard, Max, and Dale from the episode „Arch-Enemy“.
  • Aside from that, almost every female character in the show is voiced by Vladislava. The only exceptions are Bonnie Chang, who is voiced by Zorana Minčić, and Granny Squirrel, who was voiced by the guest star Jelisaveta Seka Sablić.
  • Even though Leonard is voiced by Vladislava Đorđević in all of his appearances, in „Kanga Management“, his voice is more similar to her throaty voice of Alice, compared to his other appearances where his voice is identical to that of Mr. Krabs’ from SpongeBob SquarePants, another character voiced by Đorđević.
  • Rico talks normally of the time.
  • Unlike the other cartoons dubbed by B92, TPoM has the localized logo and characters’ names during the opening.
    • However, that is only the case in B92 airings. In Nickelodeon and Nicktoons airings, the original, English logos are used.
  • Usually when there is a song in the episode, that song plays again later in the end credits.
  • Sometimes, King Julien uses English words in his sentences, like „baby“ and „fancy“, similarly to the Croatian dub of the show, where he also uses English words in his speech.
Translations
  • This dub changed some of the American locations’ names into Serbian ones:
    • Hoboken was changed to Jagodina (a Serbian city) during the season 1 and early season 2, but later, the original name is used.
    • Central Park Zoo is sometimes referred to as Belgrade zoo.
  • Almost every character’s name in this dub is changed:
    • Skipper’s name is Major, which means „major“.
    • Private’s name is Vojnik, which means „soldier“.
    • King Julien’s name is Kralj Džulijan (King Julian).
    • Mort’s name is Smor, which means an annoying person.
    • Mason and Phil were, respectively, named Hasa and Žile, with the former (possibly) being a nickname for a Muslim name, Hasan, while the latter being a nickname for a Serbian name, Živorad.
    • Leonard’s name was shortened to Leon.
    • Joey’s name is „Konza“, an anagram of the word „zakon“, which means law.
    • Roy’s name is Rale, a Serbian nickname.
    • Burt’s name is Bata, which means „brother“.
    • Chuck Charles was named Maks Maksimus (Max Maximus).
    • Buck Rockgut’s name is Den Gvozden (Dan Gvozdan).
  • Almost every episode’s title is translated completely differently.
  • Lunacorns were translated simply as unicorns.
