Queen Sun (in Persian: کویین سون) is an Iranian dubbing studio that was founded in 2017 by Asal Sobhani, who has also been the primary dubbing director of the studio. Amir Sobhani (relation unknown) is also the quality supervisor in most of the dubs as well. The studio was mostly focused on dubbing girl-focused media; some of which that, for one reason or another, many other studios in Iran did not dub, such as Ever After High or Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse. Their first dubbed media was My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, which first released on August 8, 2017.

Most of Queen Sun's dubs were released simultaneously onto Telegram and Aparat. However, since then, their Telegram channel has been deactivated, leaving Aparat as the primary source for their dubs. In early 2021, Aparat kept removing Queen Sun's videos on the service due to some having "unauthorized music and lyrics", as well as "violating site rules", starting their departure with the service. While most of their videos do still remain on Aparat, the studio would move to the service Rubika, in order to host all of its dubs. However, just like the Telegram channel, their Rubika channel has since been removed from the service. Around the time of the Rubika move, the service would also post a couple episodes of its dubs onto YouTube, as well.

This studio is rather infamous for not keeping consistency with its many voice actors, in some cases even having different voices for characters between parts of the same episode. As well, the studio has never completed any media that it has dubbed in full, often starting on a random point in the series and dubbing a random, out-of-order assortment of episodes (and tangentially related specials), before promptly leaving the dub as incomplete.

After February 2022 (the time of Queen Sun's last YouTube upload), the studio has went defunct and is no longer active.

Notes[]

  • As with a vast majority of Persian studios, everything Queen Sun produces is unauthorized by the original licensors of each media.
  • Baring a few exceptions, Asal and Amir Sobhani are the only two actors in their dubs to keep their roles a good majority of the time, usually not being replaced unlike several other actors in their dubs. This is likely due to them being the managers of the studio.
    • Amir also serves as the main voice-over for all its dubs; he reads out most of the dubbing credits at the start and the end of each product, while Asal reads out the titles, and sometimes the character names.
  • The series World of Winx, and the TV special Welcome to Monster High, were both announced on separate dates onto Queen Sun's social media, but did not end up receiving Persian dubs from the studio. Due to the inactivity of the studio come 2022, these dubs will likely not see the light of day.
  • For some reason, Queen Sun has released a couple other series and films onto their Aparat channel (such as a Persian dub of Final Space), that they did not have any part in dubbing.
  • Most of what Queen Sun produces is animated media, with exception of the BLACKPINK and BTS series.
  • Because YouTube is more lax about copyright when compared to an Iranian website, most of what is on their channel are roughly 1-2 episodes of each show. The only series to be uploaded onto YouTube in their entirety were Blackpink and BTS-related.
  • Shaghayeg Arshia, who has appeared in some Queen Sun dubs before, would open up her own dubbing studio in 2019, called Shiny Star Dub. This studio would cover a lot of the same media (Equestria Girls, Barbie and so on).
