Rubén Moya Acosta (October 31, 1956 - June 11, 2023) was a Mexican actor, dubbing director, and teacher with more than 44 years of experience. He’s perhaps best remembered in Latin America for being the original voice of characters such as He-Man in Masters of the Universe and Emperor Zurg in the Toy Story series. He’s also known in the country for being the voice of Jack Palance in Ripley's Believe It or Not!, and the official dub voice for Morgan Freeman and Jon Voight.
He started his career in 1978, after completing his training at the Andrés Soler Institute of the ANDA and the Center for Dramatic Art (CADAC). Moya was distinguished with a baritone voice, a trait that’s common with many of the roles he portrayed.
Moya passed away on June 11, 2023 after a months-long battle with throat cancer.
