Trivia[]

  • For the main characters, the names from the DiC/CWi English dub are used (Serena, Amy, Raye, Lita, Mina, Rini, Darien) but maintaining the Japanese surnames. However, since the middle of the third season, new characters use their original names (Haruka, Michiru, Hotaru), but established characters continue to keep their dub names.
    • However, this is the only thing that is borrowed from the English dub, since otherwise this dub is based entirely on the original Japanese version.
    • On the other hand, some secondary characters got new names unique to this dub. For example, Haruna Sakurada is named Mónica, Umino is named Kelvin, Yuichiro is named Nicolás, etc.
    • In her first appearances, Rini's name alternated between that and her original name Chibiusa at random. Eventually decided to use Rini as her name for the rest of the series.
  • Episode 89 was the only episode that was never dubbed, due to it being only a prologue to the next season and being considered unnecessary.
  • The Sailor Starlights in the original language have only a single voice for their two counterparts, but in the dub it was decided that they have a male VA and a female VA separately. This was also considered for the Italian dub (mostly reasons for censorship and controversy of the time) and the Brazilian Portuguese dub (which was based in Latin American Spanish dub).
