Saludos Amigos

Saludos Amigos (English: Greetings, Friends, although commonly marketed as Hello, Friends) is a 1942 American live-action/animated propaganda anthology film produced by the Walt Disney company to promote goodwill towards Latin America, which had come under the influence of Nazi Germany at the time of its production. It is the first of the company's six package films released during the wartime era in the 1940s, and also the first to release in Latin America before the United States. The film notably marks the debut appearance of José Carioca (also known as Zé Carioca).

Set in South America, the film is comprised of four animated segments, titled "Lake Titicaca", "Pedro", "El Gaucho Goofy", and "Aquarela do Brasil", each with behind-the-scenes documentation preceding them. The four segments embrace the culture of the South American Inca tribes, the Andean mail carriers, the Argentinian gauchos, and the urban people of Brazil, respectively.

In light of the film's success at the box office, a sequel, entitled The Three Caballeros was released in 1944.
