Dubbing credits[]
Notes[]
- Like most of "Jess" Discographic dubs, this is an illegal dub.
- Most of the background music and/or songs are replaced with other music. Most special effects are also custom-made.
- "Funkytown" was replaced with "Sweetest Thing" by U2.
- "Little Drop of Poison" was replaced with "Strangers in the Night" by Frank Sinatra.
- "Changes" was replaced with "Trick Me" by Kelis and "I'm with You" by Avril Lavigne.
- "People Ain't No Good" was replaced with "With Or Without You" by U2.
- The first part of "Holding Out for a Hero" was replaced with "Uninvited" by Alanis Morisette, while the second part was replaced with the original Bonnie Tyler version of the song.[clip 1]
- The background music includes "Toward Magic Mountain", "After Many Miles", "Twilight" and "Path Through Danger" by Demons, "Jaundiced Soul" and "The Cat and the Canary" by Westar Music, "Keep Your Eyes Open (Trailer Music)" and "Living up to the Challenge (Trailer Music)" by Hollywood Film Music, "The Jet Aircraft Facility" by Michael Giacchino & EA Games Soundtrack, "Tonight (Madrid Goes Wild Remix)" by Dr. Kucho!, Gregor Salto & Camiel, "Something This Way Haunts" by A.M.P., "The Nutcracker, Op. 71: Arabian Dance (Coffee)" by Tchaikovsky.
- Some music was taken from the first movie
- Only Genti Pjetri (Shrek) and Saimir Kodra (Donkey) retained their role from the first film's dub.
- During the credits, a Spanish-language song is strangely used. The song is "1, 2, 3" ('un, dos, tres'; Spanish for: one, two, three), by the Argentine Latin pop group "El Símbolo", very successful in South America in the 90s.[clip 5]
- Muffin Man's voice was not dubbed, but kept in English.
Translation[]
- Some changes and mistakes are present in the translation. Some of them include:
- Donkey's name was changed to "Bukurosh" meaning "Handsome".
- Instead of "maybe I’ll see y’all Sunday for a barbecue or something", Donkey says "maybe I'll see (y'all) at Taivani", "Taivani" referring to Taiwan Center, a restaurant in Tirana.
- Instead of "Well, there’s some fine print for you!", Shrek says "Well here I am breaking my promise".
- Instead of "I’ll park the car.", Donkey says "I'll stay with the coachman".
- Instead of "Good!", Harold says "for our own good".
- Instead of "Are you from Europe?", Jill says "Are you Albanian?"
- "Muffin Man" was not translated "Njeriu kek" as in the first movie, but "furrëtari" (baker), missing the opportunity to reference that scene from the first movie which is very famous in Albania.
- Instead of "C minor", the Fairy Godmother says "B minor", "B" in most European languages is "Si", which is pronounced just like "C" in English.
