Sonic Frontiers is a single-player, platformer, action-adventure video game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega. It is the 24th mainline Sonic the Hedgehog game in the series.
The game was directed by Morio Kishimoto and produced by Sachiko Kawamura, both veterans that worked on Sonic games for years. It was composed by Tomoya Ohtani, Rintaro Soma, Kenji Mizuno, Kanon Oguni, Takahito Eguchi, Kenichi Tokoi and Hiroshi Kawaguchi. Additionally, the game's dialogue scripts were written by Ian Flynn, a long-time comic book writer for the Sonic the Hedgehog comic book series, starting with being the lead writer of the comic series published by Archie Comics from 2006 to its cancellation in 2017, to this day with the current comic series published by IDW Publishing since 2018.
It was released internationally on November 8, 2022 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, as well on personal computers via Steam. The game itself has become the best-selling 3D Sonic game since Sonic Heroes. The game has received three updates during the course of 2023; "Sights, Sound and Speed" on March 22, "Sonic's Birthday" on June 23, and "The Final Horizon" on September 28.
Synopsis[]
After escaping and waking up from Cyber Space, Sonic must travel through the Starfall Islands to find his missing friends, as he discovers some of the archipelago's distant secrets along the way. On his way, he must find the Chaos Emeralds in order to defeat the Titans that guard each island.

- It is the first game in the franchise to be localized in Brazilian Portuguese.
- The availability of languages differs between regions for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch versions; the Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC versions don't have any differences. In addition, Asian versions of the game will support the Japanese, English, Korean, and Chinese versions, while Western versions will not support them.
