- Marc Stachel (Sonic), Claus-Peter Damitz (Knuckles), Marianne Graffam (Rouge), Klaus Lochthove (Shadow) and Johannes Oliver Hamm (Eggman) doesn't reprise their roles for unknown reasons making Paulina Weiner (Tails), Anna Gamburg (Amy), and Viktor Pavel (Big) the only voice actors who reprise their roles from the video games. However, the cast features many voice actors reprising their roles from other Sonic the Hedgehog media aside from the games:
- Jan Makino, the voice actor of Sonic, has previously voiced Shadow in Sonic X.
- Gerald Schaale, the voice actor of Doctor Deep, has previously voiced Coconuts in Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog.
- Jürgen Kluckert, the voice actor of Doctor Done It, has previously voiced Eggman in Sonic Underground.
- Felix Spieẞ would later become the official German voice actor for Shadow in the games, starting with both the redub for Sonic Generations and Shadow Generations.
