Sonic the Hedgehog is an 2020 American-Japanese live-action/CGI-animated action-adventure comedy film, based on the video game series of the same name, directed by Jeff Fowler, distributed by Paramount Pictures and licensed by Sega.

Originally set to be released in November 2019, the film was delayed for redesigning Sonic due to the massive controversy to Sonic's old bad humanoid design in the first trailer. The film released in theaters in February 2020.

After its large success at the box-office, it spawned two sequels; Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog 3, both releasing in 2022 and 2024 in their respective year. A fourth film is scheduled for a release in 2027.
