Spirou is a French-Belgian-Canadian animated television series. It first aired in Quebec on December 18, 1993, on Canal Famille, later becoming available on Radio-Québec from September 7, 1995. In France, the series premiered on December 23, 1993, on Canal J and subsequently on TF1 starting September 7, 1994.
Based on the comic book series "Les Aventures de Spirou et Fantasio" by Tome and Janry, the show consists of 52 episodes, each approximately 24 minutes long. The series chronicles the adventures of the daring Spirou, joined by his reporter friend Fantasio and his squirrel Spip.
