SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is a 2023 platformer video game based on the Nickelodeon animated series SpongeBob SquarePants, released for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Windows computers, the App Store, and Google Play, developed by Purple Lamp and published by THQ Nordic. It was first announced on September 17, 2021 in a tenth-anniversary showcase by THQ Nordic. The game was released on January 31, 2023 throughout the world for last-gen console platforms and PC. Next-gen ports released on October 23, 2023, and mobile ports were released on December 12, 2023. It is the spiritual sequel to the 2003 video game SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom, specifically its 2020 remake (subtitled Rehydrated).
In SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake, SpongeBob and Patrick meet the mysterious fortune teller Kassandra who gives them a vial full of Mermaid's Tears. Legend claims they grant the wishes of those who are pure of heart.
Naturally, the two best buddies get overexcited and their flurry of wishes tears open the very fabric of space and time. All while releasing Cosmic Jelly onto Bikini Bottom and opening portals to strange Wishworlds in the process.
Now it's up to our heroes to rescue their friends who got lost in the Wishworlds and bring back Bikini Bottom's most iconic buildings.
But Kassandra has her own devious plan.

The game's localization credits.
- The game's credits mention that an Arabic version was made by Synthesis International; however, the game cannot be played in Arabic.
- Xbox.com mentions that an Italian dub exists for the game. As of March 2025, an Italian dub has not been provided with the base game, nor through updates.
- The site also mentions that the European Portuguese version of the game only extends to subtitles and not the game's interface. This is not true, as it contrasts with mentions from Steam and Epic Games.
