Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City is a Canadian 2D animated web series that was released on September 18, 2021 on YouTube. The show marks the beginning of a new era for the Strawberry Shortcake franchise. Every episode is 4 minutes long, with the exception of a few special episodes, that are 8 minutes long.
Produced by WildBrain's Vancouver animation studio, with renowned showrunner Michael Vogel, one of the creative forces behind My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and My Little Pony: The Movie, the show finds Strawberry traveling to Big Apple City, where all the biggest names in baking go to get their break.
There, she teams up with her new "berry besties" and together, the entrepreneurial girls run their fabulous food trucks and enjoy daily adventures filled with laughter and singing as they strive to "bake the world a better place"!

Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City began to release on YouTube starting September 18, 2021[5]. The trailer was uploaded on September 8.[6]
On November 23, 2021, it was announced that the series would see a Netflix release[7], which is set to happen on April 15, 2022.[8]

In Canada, the series premiered on Family Jr.[9], marking the web show's first worldwide TV debut. In the United Kingdom, the show airs on Tiny Pop. In New Zealand, the show airs on TVNZ 2, with the episodes being made available as they aired on their website. In the United States, it airs on Kids Street during weekends.
