Studio Dubbing RCTI is a sub-department of MNC Studios, usually handles audiovisual editing for various programs broadcasted on events under the auspices of MNC. They were also responsible for most of the dubbed programs broadcasted on said channel from 1995 to 2010. Initially other dubbing programs that were not recorded internally at that time were usually outsourced to KAAF, Eltra, Shefai Dream Production, Biantoro's dubbing studio. IMMG & Yori Yoga. It was only in the early 2010s that MNC formed their drama dubbing sub-department. Since then, a majority of their dubbing has been produced in-house. Though they sometimes outsource to MT.

History[]

After its first broadcast in 1989, RCTI began airing foreign programs (especially from the US), in order to be able to adapt to domestic audiences, RCTI began to collaborate with studios, screen actors, & voice actors for their internal drama program production projects, which included dubbing projects for foreign programs handled by various studios such as KAAF, IMMG & Yori Yoga. The drama program dubbing projects were coordinated by local studios by recruiting talents with minimal to zero voice acting experience.

A big wave of animation broadcasts occurred from the early 2000s to 2010s. This wave marked the many imports of animated series from abroad that would be dubbed into Indonesian together with several 3rd wave actors. This happened because of MNC's cooperation with Nickelodeon after ending its cooperation with Lativi, which allowed many Nickelodeon production shows to be broadcast on Global TV (now GTV), after PT Media Nusantara Citra Tbk acquired shares in Global TV. This was marked by several changes, such as the presence of RCTI people in Global TV management, to production being transferred to MNC Studios.

After 2014, along with the stagnation of the animation world. MNC slowly but surely no longer relies on outsourcing with other studios and begins to produce in its own studio. Along with the many animation imports carried out by companies under the auspices of MNC, they also began to produce their own Dubbing process, especially in 2011, when MNC formed its own animation division, namely MNC Animation, with one of its works being Kiko. although they also bought the broadcasting rights to Disney shows/movies that are recorded in Eltra and MCPro until 2019 when their contract with Disney expired and with the release of Disney+ Hotstar, and other shows that are outsourced to MT.
