Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the British English dub of 大乱闘スマッシュブラザーズ SPECIAL. It was localized by Nintendo of Europe (which also produced the European French, European Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch and Russian localizations of the game), and is largely identical in most areas to the American English localization (including using American English spelling and grammar, along with the same voices and almost the exact same character names), with only minor differences.

This is the official British English localization, and it is used on any Nintendo Switch console if the console's region is set to Europe or Australia/New Zealand. This localization is not just simply meant for the United Kingdom/Republic of Ireland, South Africa, and Australia/New Zealand — it is also used by European countries that officially receive Nintendo software through authorized distributors but do so in English only without any specific in-game localization (e.g. Nordic countries, Visegrad Group countries, Israel or Greece).

Cast[]

Note: Any characters listed on the article for the American English localization, but not on this one, have completely unchanged voices in this localization of the game. Characters listed on neither this article nor the one for the American English localization, but only on the article for the Japanese version, retain their voices in all regions (though their names may significantly differ from the Japanese version).

Trivia[]

  • Duck Hunt is known as Duck Hunt Duo in this localization. The character's announcer call (as well some lines during their Palutena's Guidance conversation and crowd cheer) have been re-recorded as a consequence.
  • As the game retains American English spelling and grammar in its European English version, it would be more accurate to call this localization the European English version rather than the British English version.
  • Like in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, Wii Fit Trainer is the only playable character to have an entirely different voice in the British English version of the game. Both gendered versions of the character are voiced by voice actors from the United Kingdom in the EU version.
