Tara Duncan (also known as Tara Duncan: The Evil Empress in the United States, which is the title of the eighth novel) is a French animated series produced by Moonscoop, very loosely based on the novel series. The show premiered on 27 June 2010 in France on Disney XD, and aired through 19 June 2011. It lasted for one 26-episode season.

In the United States, the English version was made available on Kabillion Girls Rule in 2013.

In 2021, the book series received another animated series of the same name.

Notes[]

  • In 2013, the voice of Sparrow, Kelly Metzger, confirmed that the show is originally done in French, and it is then dubbed by the Canadian voice cast in English. However, the final result is that the English audio was used as the basis for the lip-syncing, therefore prioritizing the English version, like a good number of other French cartoons.
    • Interestingly, Metzger also said that she thinks the crew had dubbed enough for a second season, but she cannot remember. Only one season has ever been released.
