The Baby Huey Show is an American animated television series starring the eponymous Famous Studios/Harvey Comics character. Akin to other Harvey Comics shows of the {1990s following the company's aquirance by Jeffrey Montgomery's HMH Communications, it features old Harveytoons (mainly Herman & Katnip and Baby Huey ones). This series also incorporates original Baby Huey cartoons, produced through the first season by Carbunkle Cartoons, following the success of The Ren & Stimpy Show in which said studio had previously worked.[5] Sid Raymond from the original Noveltoons theatrical shorts reprises his role as Huey. The first season cost $2 million,[6] and became successful on syndication.[7][8] Animation historian Jerry Beck served as a producer for Harvey.
Universal/Harvey Animation Studios was founded in 1995,[9] and produced further Baby Huey shorts for a second season, which debuted later this year; Joe Alaskey replaces Raymond as Huey.
Martin Taras, the creator of the eponymous character, died on November 2, 1994, about two months after the show's debut.
