- At the beginning, John Bender asks Mr. Vernon if Barry Manilow knows that Vernon has raided his closet. Since Barry Manilow is not so well known outside of America, he was turned into Phil Collins in the German version.
- While Anthony Michael Hall was the youngest actor in the film, he was dubbed by the oldest voice actor of five youths, Santiago Ziesmer. Ziesmer was 32 years old at the time.
