The Tracey Ullman Show is an American variety series that originally aired on Fox from April 10, 1987 to May 31, 1990. The series stars British actress, comedian, singer and former dancer Tracey Ullman, and consists of two or three sketches (or playlets) featuring her playing an array of characters, along with her supporting cast of Julie Kavner, Dan Castellaneta, Sam McMurray, Joseph Malone, and in season three, Anna Levine. The final sketch of the night usually includes a musical or dance number featuring Ullman either solo or with other members of the cast.
The series held a legacy, as it was one of the earliest programs ever to air on the then-new Fox network, and was the first series on the network to win an Emmy award. It is also known for being the debut of Matt Groening's The Simpsons characters, who were used as part of interstitial shorts for the series. Despite this, only a few parts of the series has been released on home video, such as a few of the Simpsons shorts, and the sketch "Due Diligence", starring actor-comedian Mel Brooks.
