The Wheels on the Bus is a British computer-animated children's television series produced by 3D Films in association with CYP Creations and Winchester Television. The series is produced using Discreet 3dsmax software.
The programme is about 4 instruments, Sax, Trombone, Drum and Bass, who ride on a bus called Beep. They live in a massive city full of nursery rhymes and songs called Singsong City with all the residents being based on nursery rhyme characters. Each character has a different personality, for example, Drum comes across as a joker of the series as he would quite often yelled a punchline at certain things, Sax is the coolest dude like saxophone, hence the name, Trombone is the typical minor who sometimes acts so sour, and Bass comes across as a sort of friendly posh character having a Posh RP accent, and sometimes tends to be bossy, whilst Beep tends to be the kindest, sweetest and friendly local bus the city has ever seen, with Daisy coming along, the fun would never end.
The voices are provided by David Holt and Kate Harbour (who at the time previously provided voices for Cosgrove Hall Films' Oakie Doke for the BBC).
The very unique computer animation is provided by the people of 3D Films whom done stuff previously for CYP Creations and would in later years go on to do Underground Ernie. The animation is directed by Paul Cloney who also provides as a lead animator on both The Wheels on the Bus and Underground Ernie.
The Wheels on the Bus first aired on GMTV in 2001-2006, It would later re-air on Tiny Pop in 2007-2010.
