Censorship and changes[20][]

  • Like other 4Kids dubs, Many of the characters' names were changed.
  • Many of Chojins' moves names were changed.
  • The "Justice Chojin" faction was changed to the "Muscle League".
  • The Intergalactic Wrestling Federation (IWF) doesn't exist in the original version, which it is a parody of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).
  • Rather than just being Jade's trainer, Brocken Jr. was changed to being his father as well.
  • The faeces of Mantaro were changed to a sentient "stink bug", due to faecal matter being considered an inappropriate subject matter for children and broadcast.[21]
  • The ethnicity of a few characters was changed. Check Mate and Geronimo became British, Buffaloman became Russian, The Ninja became American, etc.
  • The dMp which stands for Demon Making Plant was changed to Destruction, Mayhem and Pain. And its logo was barely changed.
  • In the dub, if a member if the Kinniku Clan exposed their face, they are stripped of their rank, status, forbidden to wrestle or fight again and are reduced, by every standard, to un-persons without any right, instead of facing the death penalty, presumably for censorship reasons.[22]

Edits and dialogues changes[]

General[]

  • For the opening and ending of the dub used an own theme song.
  • Like other 4Kids dubs, some stock cartoon sound effects were added.
  • Some episodes prologues were cut out.
  • Some footages order from some episodes were altered or barely removed.
  • The episodes titles were removed.
  • The eyecatchers were changed.
  • The characters' introduction text was removed.
  • Most of the English and Japanese texts were removed in this dub.
  • Like other 4Kids dubs, all the soundtrack from the Japanese version were replaced with alternative soundtrack.
  • The segment of the main characters singing the "Cow and Rice" song with different lyrics written by the audience for each episode (from 17 to 51) was cut off.
  • During the "Cow and Rice" song (Kid Muscle's song), all the "丼" (Don) kanji characters in the background were removed.
  • The forehead markings of some characters were removed.

A Legend Reborn (Episode 1)[]
  • The "P 24h" (24-hour parking) sign on the billboard was removed.
  • The Japanese emblem on the stone was removed.
  • The scene where Mantaro peen himself was censored by a white flash of the Meat's cryogenic pod.
  • A flashback boiler was added during the Mantaro's flashback with his grandfather.
  • The part where Mantaro showing his name text to explain the pun at Meat was cut out.
  • The part where Mantaro grabbing the Blood Killer's legs was cut out.
Generation-Next (Episode 2)[]
  • When Mantaro is on the spacecraft with Meat, he makes a mention to the American group "Village People", which is not mentioned on the original version.
  • The part where Mantaro holding cards with Japanese Text was edited.
  • The color of the burning kicking bags was changed from red to blue.
  • The part where Mantaro kicks the bag and sets himself on fire was removed.
  • The part where Terry the Kid kicks the bag repeatedly was cut out. In this dub just show him kicking it the final time before the bag breaks off and is launched at Mantaro.
  • The part where Mantaro peen himself was edited.
  • The part where Terry leaving all together was removed.
  • The "Peanut" text of Terry's peanut bag was removed.
  • During Terry the Kid's flashback, "Terry's Ranch" text was removed from farm header.
    • Also, during Terry's flashback, the impact line of Terryman hitting them was removed and instead of this, Terryman yells at him.
    • Natsuko Shono's (Terry's mom) astonishment voice was added.
  • The "バカ" (baka) text was removed on the flags.
  • The part where Anaconda wonders if this cheerleader likes Mantaro or not was cut out.
  • The text on the Terryman's handkerchief was removed.
  • The Terryman's forehead emblem was removed from the photo with Kinnikuman.
Making The Cut (Part 1 of 2) (Episode 3)[]
  • The part where Mantaro pees himself while hanging on the rope is changed into a scene where he farts.
  • The part where Robin Mask sending Mantaro back to the burning was removed
  • One of Chojins has his design changed, he originally resembled of the Confederete States, he is instead painted entirely red.
  • The "プ ー" (puu) text was removed.
  • The part where Buffaloman punchs Terry's face was shortned.
  • The part where Buffaloman punchs Terry's face repeatedly gets mirrored for unknown reasons. In the dub, in rare instance the unedited footage was recycled for other scene.
  • The part where Terry parks a truck was removed for unknown reasons.
  • The part where Buffaloman charges that Terry is blurred.
Like Father Like Son (Part 2 of 2) (Episode 4)[]
  • The "GP" text on the Champion belt was removed.
  • The part where Kinnikuman shows his butt was removed
  • The part where Mantaro headbutts his father, the dub adds a shatter effect him to most of the impact and make it look less graphic.
  • The map of Japan on the screen was replaced with a 3D rotating globe to make connotation more global.
    • Due to this, the part where the Chojins will be going to Japan as in specifically was removed.
  • The part where showing specific location where Mantaro will be held was removed.
D.M.p Arc[]
Dial Up Danger (Part 1 of 3) (Episode 5)[]
  • The part where Kevin Mask jumps to stop Gazelleman was shortned. In the dub, Kevin just appears out of nowhere.
    • In the dub, Meat knew Kevin Mask instead of Mantaro in the original version.
  • The "Japanese wrestling" (on Japanese) text was replaced with the "Intergalactic Wrestling Federation" logo.
  • The "Boijer" text and the letter b were removed.
  • The Japanese texts on Tel-Tel Boy's buttons were removed.
  • The part where Tel-Tel Boy is making a call was shortned.
  • The part where Tel-Tel Boy shows the upcoming match was removed.
Mask of Terror (Part 2 of 3) (Episode 6)[]
  • The texts of the names of the announcers were replaced by numbers and the billboard with Japanese text was removed.
  • The part where shows the time clock was removed.
  • During the Mantaro's flashback, The part where baby Mantaro cross the burning rings was removed.
    • Also, during the flashback, The "Komutan" text was removed and get replaced by a dog image.
  • The part where the characters do a "Shiritori" (しりとり) battle was cut out of the dub because this word game is not popular outside of Japan and it was considered unnecessary.
Call Waiting (Part 3 of 3) (Episode 7)[]
  • During the match of Mantaro V/S Tel-Tel Boy, all the Japanese texts, numbers and emoticons on Tel-Tel Boy's screen were replaced with other stuff.
  • The text on Tel-Tel Boy's memory card was changed.
  • During the celebration, the Japanese text was replaced by a image of a bowl of Karubidon.
Trouble Afoot (Part 1 of 2) (Episode 8)[]
  • The part where shows Seiuchin, the background was changed. In the dub, it was replaced by a scene of the episode.
  • The "MAX" text on MAXman tongue was removed.
  • The part where shows the Tokyo Tower in lights off was removed.
  • Seiuchin's knockout was shortned.
  • The part where MAXman hangs Mantaro was removed.
Fury of The Scorned Shoe (Part 2 of 2) (Episode 9)[]
  • When Mantaro puts his feaces on the ring was shortned and his butt was censored with the pants on.
  • The part where Mantaro shows his butt while put his pants on was removed.
  • During Terry's flashback, a flashback boiler was added.
    • Also during the flashback, Natsuko Shono's astonishment voice was added.
  • The "KO Superman Hospital" text was replaced by two red crosses.
  • The letter "K" was removed and the "SQMY" text was also removed, probably due to copyright reasons.
Unmellow Yellow (Episode 10)[]
  • The part where Mantaro peen himself was shortned. [IMAGE NOT SHOWED DUE TO INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT]
  • The part where shows the word "Nightmare" was cut out.
  • When Terry runs from Tokyo to Osaka for his upcoming match, the "大阪" (Osaka) and "東京" (Tokyo) text were removed of the map of Japan.
  • Some seconds of Sunshine eating Japanese food with Mantaro and Meat was cut out.
  • For unknown reasons, the part where shows some parts of the Osaka City was cut out.
  • During Sunshine's flashback, "BH" text on Black Hole's body were removed.
    • Also during the flashback, Ashuraman's dialogues were added.
  • The "¥31.500" text was replaced by "$255.00" text.
  • The part where shows the "Kan Sai Dome" was edited out, its text was replaced with the "IWF" logo.
The Hand That Bites You (Part 1 of 2) (Episode 11)[]
  • At the beginning of the episode, the part where encloses the ring on a jail was cut out.
  • During his match against Rex King, the part where Terry is blooding on his mouth was edit out.
  • At the final of the episode, the static image of Rex King was removed.
Cold War (Part 2 of 2) (Episode 12)[]
  • During Terry's flashback, the "Terryman's Ranch" text was replaced by a draw of a saddle.
Checkmate! (Part 1 of 4) (Episode 13)[]
  • The pieces of a board game called "Shogi" (Japanese chess) were removed.
    • During the presentation of Mantaro on his match with Check Mate the pieces weren't removed.
    • In the dub, they called Mahjong instead of Shogi.
  • During a program conducted by two girls called Kaori and Norika, the "Osaka" text their t-shirts and the Japanese text behind them were removed
  • The part where shows Check Mate's merchandise was shortned due to a US law where kids programs can't show real life products and also in that stand had lighters.
  • On Mantaro's merchandise stand, the Japanese texts were replaced by a sketchart of Mantaro, but their action figures weren't removed despite the US law.
  • The part where Mantaro hangs Check Mate was shortned.
Feeling No Pain (Part 2 of 4) (Episode 14)[]
  • The part where Mantaro puts a cork stopper on his butt was removed.
  • The part where Check Mate attcaks to Mantaro, a flash light was added.
The Student Rebellion (Part 3 of 4) (Episode 15)[]
  • The part where Check Mate tramples to Mantaro was shortned.
  • When Check Mate punchs a kid , the part where that kid flies was removed. In the dub, just shows the kid in hands of Sunshine.
The Final Move (Part 4 of 4) (Episode 16)[]
  • The part where Mantaro gets up back for continue his match against Check Mate was shortned. In the dub, just shows Mantaro scared of Check Mate.
