Voici venir les Barbapapa (in English: Here come the Barbapapas), also known as La famille des Barbapapa (in English: The Barbapapa family) is the intro to the 1974 TV series Barbapapa. It is featured at the start of all 100 episodes. It was mainly performed by Ricet Barrier (who was also the narrator of the series), composed by Joop Stokkermans, and was written by Harrie Geelen.
The intro introduces all of the Barbapapa family, their ability to shapeshift, and describes them all by their color in the extended version.
The credits are a short, 10 second instrumental reprise of this intro.

Introducing The Barbapapa Family is the intro used in the British English and Canadian English dubs. It was released on an album in 1975, simply titled "Barbapapa".
Here is the star, it's Barbapapa! He'll introduuuce... All of the other Barbapapas 'Cause they've got a lot of wild disguises! They can change their shapes and sizes very easily... Show me your magic Barbapapa! Well there's Barbapapa, Barbamama, Barbazoo, Barbalala, Barbalib and Barbabeau, Barbabelle, Barbabright, and Barbabravo! I want to be like Barbapapa Did you miss that? While the opening theme is dubbed on the South African releases of the dub, in the Japanese release of the dub the song is left instrumental. This dub features no roll call for the Barbapapa family.
Barbapapas are kind and gentle (And change their shape!) Barbapapas are sentimental And they will always try to help you Even if you don't deserve it They are so nice! And they can fly(?), so don't desert them Just don't you lie or try to hurt them And they'll become the best ever friends!
English (US, Centauro)[]
- Singers: Kais Kappler and unidentified male voice
This intro is used in the Centauro-produced American English dub. It uses similar lyrics to the UK version, however it features a proper roll call that's accurate to the original.
Here is the star, it's Barbapapa! He'll introduuuce... All of the other Barbapapas They've got a lot of wild disguises! They can change their shapes and sizes very easily... Show me your magic Barbapapa! Barbapapa, Barbamama, Barbazoo, Barbabelle, I wanna be like Barbapapa Barbabeau, Barbabright, Barbabelle*, Barbabravo, Barbalala! I wanna be like Barbapapa!
*The roll caller says Barbabelle's name twice by accident. The official subtitles for the dub reveal that they were supposed to say Barbalib's name at the second mention.

バーバファミリーのうた (Romaji: Barbafamily no uta; English: Song of the Barbafamily) is the intro to the TV Tokyo Japanese dub of the series. It was composed by Chuuji Kinoshita / 木下忠司, with lyrics by Zenzo Matsuyama / 松山善三. The full song was used as the intro without any cuts.
This version is a completely different song arrangement, using a random selection of clips from the series as footage. This is also the only version to give the show a different opening entirely.

- Singers: Ed Stewart, Cathy MacDonald, and The London Boy Singers
Here is the star, it's Barbapapa! He'll introduuuce... All of the other Barbapapas They've got a lot of wild disguises! They can change their shapes and sizes very easily... Barbapapa's pink, he's in the pink He's pinker than flamingo pink Barbamama's black as night When it gets dark, she's out of sight Barbazoo's a yellow fellow Barbalala's very very green Barbalib is orange like an orange or a tangerine Barbabeau is black and furry But since he always plays around with paint He often looks a colour that he ain't! Now Barbabelle is deep deep purple Barbabright's true true blue Barbabravo, he's the one who's redder than the setting sun That I think is everybody done! I wanna be like Barbapapa Oh yes, I do! I wanna be a Barbapapa They've got a lot of wild disguises They can change their shapes and sizes very easily... Show me your magic Barbapapa! Barbamama, Barbazoo, Barbalala, ayyy turn it up, turn the record over! Back to track one! You can hear all the names again then, okay? I wanna be like Barbapapa I wanna be like Barbapapa!

30 seconds of an extended version of the opening that was used in the English Centauro dub was made available to the Barbapapa YouTube channel.[7] Besides this, it would not be made available in full until 2020, with the launch of the Barbapapa Club app.
The lyrics of this version are the same as the British English version, with the exception that the narrator's last line omits the mention of a record.

Missing versions[]
- There are a few versions of this song that, if dubbed, have not surfaced anywhere online. They cannot be added anywhere on this page until either the audio and/or the lyrics are provided:
- Amharic
- Basque
- Finnish (Golden Voice Oy)
- Greek
- Hindi
- Polish
- European Portuguese
- Serbian
- The Albanian dub uses the first Italian theme, subtitled in Albanian, while the Canadian English dub uses the British English theme.
- The Bulgarian, English (1990, Japanese releases only), Finnish (Yle TV2), Norwegian (VHS), Persian (Roudaki), Swedish (SVT and Wendros), and Turkish dubs all left the opening theme instrumental, and the 1978 Hebrew dub switched between having an instrumental theme and no intro at all.
- In the Persian IRIB dub, the opening uses an instrumental theme (the one with additional instruments) and immediately cuts to the end part, with a voice-over.
Notes[]
- The lyrics to the extended intro accidently confuse Barbazoo for Barbabright, and switches their names around (therefore calling Barbazoo blue, and Barbabright yellow). This is fixed in all international versions of the intro.
The instrumental theme with extra instruments.
- Two instrumental versions of this intro exists: The normal one is heard in most of the versions, while there is an instrumental version that adds additional instruments that go to the tune of the lyrics. Among the versions that use the latter instrumental are the 1990 English dub (as well its Japanese release, in which the entire theme song is instrumental), the 2001 Japanese version, the Korean version, the TVE European Spanish version, the Icelandic 1989 versions, the second Norwegian version, and the Persian IRIB version (albeit shortened to the very end of the intro).
- However, there have been other instrumentals of the song that exist, all of which stick to the same tune of the song with slight differences (excluding the first Japanese dub which uses a different song entirely). Among those are the Hungarian version, the first Italian version (which was also used in the Icelandic 1980 version), the Brazilian Portuguese intro that doesn't feature a roll call (and also uses additional instruments), and Magno's American English version.
