Winx Club: The Magic Is Back (also known simply as Winx Club) is an Italian children's CGI-animated fantasy comedy television series created by Iginio Straffi and Joanne Lee. Produced by Rainbow S.p.A. and Hampa Studio, it is a reboot of the original long-running 2004 TV series Winx Club. The series is a new take and adaptation of the plot of the original series, following Bloom, an ordinary teenage girl from Earth who discovers she has magical powers on her 16th birthday. Resultingly, she goes to the planet Magix and attends the College of Alfea, a boarding school for fairies and witches, where she befriends fellow fairies Stella, Flora, Aisha, Musa, and Tecna. The six fairies become the Winx Club, using their powers to triumph over evil while exploring themes of friendship, identity, and empowerment.
This series was originally supposed to be the ninth season of the original Winx Club, initially slated to be released sometime between 2021-2023. Using the subtitle Shorts, the show's seasonal format was to be changed to 52 episodes, each 13 minutes in length, as opposed to the 26 22-minute long episodes from all the previous seasons. However, by 2022, following the cancellation of the live-action Fate: The Winx Saga, it was reworked into a full-fledged reboot, alongside a return to the original episode format.
Originally slated for a 2024 release, the series' first season debuted worldwide in two halves - the first 13 episodes were released on September 8, 2025 in the United Kingdom, and on October 2 worldwide, with the remaining 13 coming in fall of 2026[1]. Netflix holds the international streaming rights.
Cast[]
The original English version is recorded in the United States[2]. This is strongly opposed to the original series, which was produced in Italian for most of its run, although, due to the Nickelodeon co-production, the English version of the series revival served as the original for the TV specials and seasons 5-8.
Also, like the previous generation, most English songs are still recorded in Italy, as displayed below.

International versions[]
There has been much confusion regarding the current situation of this show's dubs ahead of its release. First, creator Iginio Straffi said at Napoli Comicon 2024 that the series will receive up to at least 40 dubs, but since, throughout 2025, there have been many conflicting sources, stating the show will have around between 15 to 35 dubs[10]. Without any solid confirmation, below will only list the existence of dubs that are officially confirmed or heavily implied.
Notes[]
- Every dub, except for the dubs that aired on television (the Italian, French, Estúdios ORIGAMI European Portuguese and Russian dubs), only dubs the opening, ending and transformation songs and plays all other songs in English, in order to promote the English soundtrack album.
- This is highly irregular for a Winx Club animated project. Previously, most songs were dubbed in most languages, even if they did not receive a soundtrack release.
- However, both "Step Into the Dark" and "Super Power" are left undubbed in all dubs, except Russian.
- Additionally, and curiously, a demo version of "Step Into the Dark" is present in most dubs, except for Korean, which uses its instrumental.
- The instrumental for "Super Power" is used in the European Spanish dub.
- Like in Fate: The Winx Saga, every dub except for German keeps Aisha's name intact, even if they used Layla in classic Winx.
- In CBBC, Rai, and TF1 airings, the episodes have title cards in English, Italian, and French respectively.
- For the Netflix release, these are not present.
- Sofia Kids Club, an Albanian channel, had used clips from this 2025 reboot of Winx Club in their programming slate promo before the series had even debuted[15]. However, the channel has no current plans to air the show. Instead, the Tring dub of the parent series airs on the channel.
- Kate Bristol first voiced Musa in the English version of the 7th season of classic Winx, as well as World of Winx, while Marc Thompson, Oliver Wyman and Erica Schroeder participated in the 4Kids dub of classic Winx (with Wyman being the only actor to reprise his 4Kids dub role, having first voiced Wizgiz in that dub).
