Winx Club is one of several Czech dubs of the show of the same name. Initially produced by Barrandov Studio and later by Médea Promotion Dabing, this is the second Czech dub of the series, after Prima had aired a dub of season 1. It was comissioned by and dubbed in-house for TV Barrandov, where it premiered in 2011. Only seasons 1-4, 7 and the four one-hour specials were dubbed, while seasons 5 and 6 aired on Barrandov with the Nickelodeon dub instead; season 8 was never dubbed, by any studio, into Czech.

This dub was also used for Nickelodeon's airings of season 4, due to Nickelodeon commissioning Barrandov Studio to dub season 4 for both Nickelodeon and Barrandov, instead of having SDI Media dub it as they had done for season 3 and would go on to do for seasons 5-7. Despite this, season 4 of this dub is based on Cinélume's English version instead of Atlas Oceanic's English version, due to Nickelodeon US commissioning international dubs of seasons 3 and 4 before they finished their own English version for distribution, and most likely to also stay consistent with this dub being produced in the original airing order and from Cinélume's English version.

Notes[]

  • The majority of songs are dubbed into Czech in the first three seasons of this dub. However, in seasons 4, 7 and the one-hour specials, all songs are left in English or instrumental — except in one instance in episode 409 where "Believix, You're Magical" is left in Italian and in episodes 406 and 419 where it is dubbed into Czech, "The Magic Light of Winx", "You Are The One I Want" and "Kingdom and a Child" were also dubbed into Czech — and in the four one-hour specials, the season 2 version of "Under the Sign of Winx" is used as the opening theme song instead of "Winx You're Magic Now", and in the end credits, the season 2 version of "The Girls of the Winx Club" is used instead of "Superheroes". Both are cut and sped up to fit the length of the opening and ending sequences, which they are much longer than.
    • Songs being left in English applied to all Nickelodeon CEE dubs of Season 4, such as Russian, Romanian and Hungarian. This was most likely in order to produce the dubs faster. The only exceptions were the Croatian, Turkish and Polish dubs, which were acquired from other channels rather than commissioned by Nickelodeon.
    • However, unlike other Nickelodeon CEE dubs of the season, few songs were dubbed into Czech in season 4, although most of them were still left in English.
    • In DVD releases of season 4, the dubbed season 3 version of "Under the Sign of Winx" replaces the English version of "Winx are Back."
  • The theme song for seasons 1-3 had its audio replaced several times:
    • It is redubbed every season, unlike in most dubs. The season 3 version has the same lyrics as the season 2 version, but it is sung by the Czech girl group 5Angels instead.
    • The version by 5Angels is used in Barrandov Plus' airings of the first three seasons and DVD releases for seasons 2-4.
    • In Tuty's airings of season 2, the audio for the opening theme song is replaced with the version from SDI Media's dub of season 3.
  • Some of the cast of this dub also appeared in the Prima and Nickelodeon dubs:
    • Bloom's voice actress, Terezie Taberyová, voiced Flora in the Prima dub and Tecna in the Nickelodeon and TUTY dub. She reprised her role as Bloom in the dub of Fate: The Winx Saga, Winx Saga: Osud.
    • Musa's voice actress, Ivana Korolová, also voiced her in the Nickelodeon dub. However, she voices her in all four specials in the Nickelodeon dub, while she does not in the Barrandov dub.
  • This dub's version of "Enchantix" became infamous in the fandom for its off-key, off-beat singing, where it was subjected to ridicule.
