Winx Club - Il mistero degli abissi (also known as Winx Club: The Mystery of the Abyss in English) is a 2014 Italian computer-animated film based on the television series Winx Club. It is the third film based on the show, following 2007's Il segreto del regno perduto and 2010's Magica avventura. It was directed and produced by series creator Iginio Straffi, who also co-wrote the film with Giovanni Masi.
After the release of the first Winx Club movie, Iginio Straffi stated that the Rainbow studio was "counting on" making second and third Winx films. In 2010, it was announced that Viacom (the eventual co-owner of Rainbow and owner of Nickelodeon) would provide the resources necessary to produce the film. Il mistero degli abissi was animated using Autodesk Maya and other programs over a period of two years.
The film takes place sometime closely after the fifth season of the animated series. It follows the Winx fairies as they work to bring balance back to the Infinite Ocean after the Trix, a trio of witches, team up with a nymph named Politea to find a pearl and destroy the source of the fairies' power. The film's release was timed to coincide with the series' tenth anniversary. The film was first released by 01 Distribution in Italy on September 4, 2014. It was shown in theaters across Europe, while most international releases were televised or direct-to-video. The English version was released on October 10, 2014.
Cast[]
Ever since the 2011 revival of the parent series, both the English and Italian versions of Winx Club animated media would be produced as the original versions.

Music[]
Only three songs recieved a soundtrack release: "The Magic of Sirenix" (which was already a featured song from season five that recieved a soundtrack release), "Magic All Around", and "We All Are Winx". The song "Splendi Cosi" was only heard as an instrumental version in the film. The English version features an exclusive song, "Winx Club: We Are Back", that was only included in the film's trailer.

Notes[]
- While the original language of the movie is primarily Italian (i.e. the script was written in Italian and then translated into English), the animation, namely lip-syncing of the characters, is based off the English version. Most international dubs are based off the English dub as well.
- This is the first piece of Winx Club media to be dubbed in Sinhala and Tatar, despite the fact that the parent series has never received a dub in these languages.
- Unlike the English dubs of the first two films, The Secret of the Lost Kingdom and Magical Adventure, Aisha's original name is kept rather than being renamed to Layla, because this dub uses the Atlas Oceanic terminology rather than the 4Kids terminology that the first two films used.
- This is the only movie from the Winx Club trilogy to not have an Arabic dub.
Errors[]
- In the English version:
- During the Sirenix transformation, Musa says her powerline while Stella poses at the end of her sequence.
- Most of the character emotions are retained from the Italian version of the film.
- The edit of the Sirenix song during Bloom's solo sequence before fighting the Trix with Sky in Gardenia has an improper cut, unlike the Italian version which has a smoother flow.
- Before the end of the group Sirenix sequence, the song can be heard only in the left ear for a split second.
